Construction on the 100 Block of West Main is running very close to its original schedule, according to developer Jeff Jones, “In spite of all the rain we’ve had recently,” he adds. The project should be nearing completion in late summer.
Here are the current projects and forecast of what will happen in the next 30 days according to Jones. The masonry on the exterior of the building will continue on the front from West to East with the back already completed. A few key elements of the masonry work will be installed later, says Jones, including pre-cast medallions in sizes ranging up to three feet. “These are a very intricate product which will add a nice element,” he says. The second is the coping around the top of the masonry (and why it currently stops short of the top wall). The precast, glass fiber reinforced concrete was chosen to compliment the other downtown buildings while still being long-lasting.
